Modular course MEP(LAND)

General informations

Get the theoretical basics and practical knowledge to earn a rating for a multi-engine airplane with piston engine MEP(LAND).

In the course you’ll learn the theory and the practical part of the education, how an airplane behaves in the air with both engines running, and how the airplane behaves in a simulated single-engine failure.

Where does education take place?

At the Ljubljana Airport, Postojna Airport or Portorož Airport

What does education cover?
  • At least 7 hours of theory
  • At least 6 hours of flight
What else do I need to get my license?

* Outsourced

PPL(A) school fleet
  • Piper PA34-220T Seneca III

The course of education

Theoretical part
The theoretical part of education for single-pilot multi-engine airplane rating includes at least 7 hours of training in multi-engine airplane operations from the following 8 subjects
  • aircraft systems; engines, propeller, and fuel system; the multi-engine flight principle; minimum control speed and safe speed; the impact od single engine failure on systems and performance; the center of gravity and balance; capacity; planning.
* Lectures are usually held in the afternoon hours two days a week or by agreement
Practical part
Flight training for a rating for a class or type of single-pilot multi-engine airplane includes
  • a minimum of 2 hours and 30 minutes of flight with the instructor under normal conditions of operations on a multi-engine airplane, and
  • a minimum of 3 hours and 30 minutes of flight with the instructor to teach the engine failure procedures and asymmetrical flight techniques.
* The practical part of education depends on weather conditions
