Shortly after takeoff from Airport Postojna, we fly over the beautiful town Postojna, where we see the old city center of Majlon, characterized by narrow streets and compacted construction. Very soon, we also see Tito Square (central Postojna square and the center of the city beat), the mighty late baroque church of St. Štefan, and a wonderful city park, where various public events, workshops, and markets take place. A few minutes later, we fly over the beautiful and large Karst field (Mountain field), which is considered one of Europe’s important and unique habitats for many plant and animal species. Looking at the beautiful scenery, it takes your breath away.
At the foot of the high stone wall we see the beautiful Predjama Castle, which is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest cave castle in the world. We continue our flight towards the vast and beautiful high karst plateau Nanos, which separates the continental part of Slovenia from the Littoral. The hikers have many trails leading to Vojkova koča, while they have a beautiful view on one side of the Karst plateaus, separated by pre-cave breaks and on the other side the beautiful Bela valley. The branch church of Sv. Hieronymus is also highly visible, where the view of the landscape takes your breath away.
